Mission Accomplished: By the Barrow Administration...or is it?

Hey... I am still imagining the possibilities. They may be never-ending.

To be fair, no government can fulfill all promises that are set-out in their manifesto. No government of humans had and will be able to do that.

What is troubling nevertheless is the main promise of being the antithesis of the musa-administration. The promise of being transparent as the air. The promise and still over-used mantra of being for the people--the poor especially--keeps re-echoing in the air.

The character of the UDP(08-12) was set out from day-one after the election when PM Barrow said, "But they are just celebrating." He was referring to the broken glass, destroyed property, and riot styled celebrating of the UDP aficionados.

I deliberately want to be concise with the post so let me go directly to the end of the administration or else I will have to mention a certain bridge, a certain undone road, a contrabanding maniac, hurricane "victims", fired opposition aficionados, BTL(robbed), BEL(hijacked), untinted vehicles, BTL phone giveaways, land, SSB fathom write-offs...ooops there I go. Sorry I really meant to go to the end.

The last promise that all Belizeans will be imagining forever will be that of completing their term. On gaining office, Belizean governments promise to lead us and do good for 5 years not four and not three.

Does that mean failure? For me yes...The body politic will cast judgement on March 7, 2012.

  1. Well the people have spoken and the once again have sent the UDP to Belmopan. Not a big win, no, but a win nonetheless. Here in Orange Walk, we will see the Briceños running the enitire show. Six councilors are employees of the empire. Also, the greed will resurface as fule and spares are bought at One-stop and San Isidro for reckless prices.

  2. A Briceño was voted in and not for the first time. Quite maybe people in OW rather lilenhis style. I do no and have never attended political rallies nor parades...I dont need them...But I can remember there being a convention to choose these people. Were all the people that voted at the convention brainwashed...I dont think so.
